The Criterion Channel’s annual streaming lineup typically peaks with the one-two punch of October horror and November noir, but this year it seems as if the streamer may have saved the best for last, starting with another glorious heaping of noir, this time themed for the holiday season (don’t miss Nicholas Ray’s “They Live by Night”).Īnd speaking of the holidays, what says “Christmas” more than a comprehensive look back at the films of Alfred Hitchcock?
